How do I contact other members to arrange a swap?

Sending messages to other users onsite couldn’t be easier. Simply follow the instructions below, depending on whether you are making a first request or continuing an ongoing discussion.  


Making a first request 

If this is the first time you have approached the member about staying in their home, then visit their profile and click the purple ‘Request now’ button which appears underneath their profile details.  




You will then be presented with the ‘Send a message’ box. Fill in the details of the type of swap that you would like to make, and select the dates that you are interested in travelling. The last step is to add a personal message to the host. This is a really important part of the process, as it shows the host what kind of person you are. Once all these steps are completed, all that is left to do is send the request to the host, and wait for a reply! 



Responding to a message or continuing a conversation 


To respond to a message or access discussions that are currently ongoing, you will need to log into the platform, then go to your message inbox.  


To do this, click the speech bubble icon which appears in the top right-hand corner of the page. 





Once you have clicked this icon, the message inbox page (illustrated below) will be visible. You can then click on each message in order to respond to it.  



Your message inbox will be your main source of communication with other members. When you receive a reply or a request from a fellow swapper, this is where you will find your messages.
